about
Michal Lewicki (also known as Deam and Mead) is another Polish artist joining the ranks of Sequel One. For the past few years he was persistently building his own musical language, which is a combination of various styles: future garage, wonky and broken beat (characteristic for the works of 2562). Thanks to this Michal was able to create a solid and stylish combination.
In 2014 Deam returns with new material, which is an evolution and a continuation of his previous ideas. Thus we can hear Deam’s broken pulse, warm, synthetic sounds set at 130 bpm and atmospheric vocals. Unexpected turns of events are also present in the material. For instance in the final "Arose", where we can hear an organic instrumentation based on jazz samples.
In times where European dance music is still looking for it’s own personality, among unspecified and broad genres like post-dubstep or bass music, Deam’s "REST" EP brings simple answers and easy associations. Strongly embedded in last decade’s tradition, it is a starting point as well as a foundation.
